Your shingles

CertainTeed stands behind the material itself, direct from the manufacturer.

Covered for 50 years

Our workmanship

We stand behind every part of the installation. If anything ever needs putting right, we come back and put it right.

Covered for 30 years

CertainTeed backs our work too

For the first 15 years the manufacturer guarantees our installation alongside us. CertainTeed only extends that through contractors it has certified, which is why most roofers cannot offer it.

Covered for 15 years

Applies on qualified roofs. Daniel tells you at the inspection whether yours qualifies, and exactly what changes if it does not.

What the CertainTeed certification adds

Most roofing warranties carry one name on them: the contractor's. Ours carries two. For the first fifteen years CertainTeed guarantees our installation alongside us, not just the shingles they made.

Manufacturers do not extend that lightly. CertainTeed offers it only through contractors it has certified and holds to its own installation standard — that is what ShingleMaster™ PRO means, and comparatively few roofers in this region carry it.

The practical result is that the guarantee on your roof is backed by a national manufacturer as well as by the people who installed it.

What the warranty does not cover

You should know the edges of it before you sign anything:

  • It is not a maintenance plan. Moss, debris and clogged gutters are still yours to keep on top of, and neglect can affect coverage.
  • It does not cover storm damage — that is what your insurance is for, and we handle that work too.
  • The CertainTeed layers apply to qualifying CertainTeed shingle systems. Metal and flat roofs carry our workmanship warranty but not the CertainTeed layers.
  • Repairs and partial work are warrantied, but not under the 50-year system terms.

You get the actual terms in writing before you sign anything. If a roofer will not put warranty terms in writing, that tells you something.

Questions about the warranty

The CertainTeed cover requires a complete CertainTeed system installed to their specification — not just their shingles, but the matching components underneath. Most full replacements we do qualify. Repairs and partial work do not, and neither do metal or flat roofs, which are different systems entirely.

You will be told at the inspection whether your roof qualifies, and what changes if it does not.

The product warranty covers the shingles themselves. The workmanship warranty covers how they were installed. Installation is where the majority of roofing problems in this industry come from, which is why the workmanship cover matters more than the headline 50-year number — and why ours runs 30 years with CertainTeed on it for the first 15.

It means the manufacturer guarantees our installation alongside us for the first fifteen years, rather than only guaranteeing the shingles. CertainTeed extends that exclusively through contractors it has certified and holds to its installation standard, so it is both a stronger guarantee and a credential in its own right.

CertainTeed’s warranties have transfer provisions, and the specifics depend on the system installed and when the transfer happens. Ask us at the inspection and we will give you the terms for your roof in writing rather than a general answer.
